I get in my car last night here at the office to go home, take off my sun shade and look what's underneath it! A huge fucking crack in my windshield! I have no idea how it got there, but this windshield is only a year old, after I replaced the last windshield from a huge crack.

Fuck. I don't have $350 to spend right now. Fuckers.

It was just reported now on CNN that George W. and Laura went to visit today the injured soldiers from the Fort Hood shooting.

How dare he think that he can show his face to these troops? If it weren't for his horrific wars where we are waging a war against Islam as opposed to terrorism, maybe this man might not have lost his shit and shot up the processing center to prevent more soldiers from going to war.

And he thinks he can visit these people in the hospital? Where his actions are indirectly responsible for their injuries?

And I hope that this shooting sends a message to Obama. LET'S GET THE FUCK OUT OF IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN. It's destructive on so many levels and it's only going to get worse.

This whole shooting incident has made me very sad. I can't even imagine what the shooter was thinking; it must have been so intense. And I'm sure they're going to end up blaming the whole thing on Islam. It's already happening.

Except for my girlfriend Rachel Maddow (I'd go back to being a dyke for her, oh yeah). She has been talking about other murders on other bases that seem to have the same senseless nature as the shooting at Ft. Hood. She's determined to get Obama to end these wars.

Common Sense 2009
By Larry Flynt, publisher of Hustler magazine and free speech advocate

The American government -- which we once called our government -- has been taken over by Wall Street, the mega-corporations and the super-rich. They are the ones who decide our fate. It is this group of powerful elites, the people President Franklin D. Roosevelt called "economic royalists," who choose our elected officials -- indeed, our very form of government. Both Democrats and Republicans dance to the tune of their corporate masters. In America, corporations do not control the government. In America, corporations are the government.

It's a really worthwhile read )

Arlo Guthrie is now a registered Republican! And he likes Sarah Palin! Yet he maintains he's still anti-war. Dude, get some sense.

He bought the actual Alice's Restaurant, which was made out of a de-consecrated church, and now has made it into a spiritual center.

I am so shattered. Alice's Restaurant and City of New Orleans are two of my favorite songs. And to find out he's a brainless family values Palin fan. Ugh. I think I need to go shower now.

But I agree with John Bolton.

http://tinyurl.com/ks9857

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The Obama administration is rewarding North Korea for its bad behavior by sending ex-president Bill Clinton to Pyongyang to win the release of two US journalists, the former US ambassador to the UN said Tuesday.

John Bolton, an outspoken hardliner in the previous administration of George W. Bush, told AFP that Clinton's mission to Pyongyang undermines a number of public stands held by his own wife, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

"It comes perilously close to negotiating with terrorists," Bolton told AFP when asked about Bill Clinton's trip to secure the release of journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee.

The pair were sentenced in June to 12 years in a labor camp for an illegal border crossing and an unspecified "grave crime," after they were detained by North Korean border guards on March 17 while working on a story.

"I think this is a very bad signal because it does exactly what we always try and avoid doing with terrorists, or with rogue states in general, and that's encouraging their bad behavior," Bolton said.

In a US television interview here on July 26, Secretary Clinton warned North Korea that even its traditional allies had turned against it and that the communist state's rogue behavior will no longer "be rewarded."

Bolton also scoffed the White House's contention that Bill Clinton's visit is "solely a private mission" when he said "this is a former president who is married to the secretary of state. There's nothing private about this."

The visit also undermines Secretary Clinton's public remarks in which she separates the case of the two journalist from efforts to force North Korea to return to six-party nuclear disarmament talks, he said.

"Hillary has said she wanted to delink the two but (Bill) Clinton was met at the airport by Kim Kye-Gwan who is the lead and has been for 15 years or more the lead North Korean nuclear negotiator," he added.

He added it "is hard to imagine" that Clinton did not talk about the nuclear issue when he had dinner with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il, given the nuclear negotiations that Clinton pursued when he was president in the 1990s.

"If you wanted to divorce the kidnapping, abduction issue of the two reporters from the nuclear issue, you couldn't have picked a less likely envoy than president Clinton," Bolton said.

"I think this is a win-win for North Korea," according to Bolton, who believes all negotiations are useless in trying to force North Korea to abandon its weapons-grade nuclear program.

I bolded the parts that get me the most about all of this. As a woman, I'm offended because it reinforces the public belief that you shouldn't send in a woman to do a man's job. It's why Hillary couldn't get past the primary election last year. If they keep pulling shit like this - with her own husband no less - than how are women going to truly be taken seriously in American politics?

I really hope Hillary was 100% behind this because if not, then it makes me angry and sad.

President Obama:

You have proven to be a great campaigner. You have yet to demonstrate your ability to govern. Who needs the Republicans? They don’t know what compromise is. They’re just out to derail your presidency. Bitch slap ’em at every opportunity and put them in their place. They lost; you didn’t.

As for disloyal Democrats, you need to yank the carpet out from under them. Remind them that their survival is dependent upon yours. Don’t pull punches, Mr. President. You need some gonads, and if you don’t have any, as Hillary would say, you’d better grow some.

You have failed to keep many campaign promises. You’ve ignored civil-liberty violations such as warrantless wiretapping. You passed a stimulus package that is obviously full of pork for Democrats. You handed over billions more in taxpayer dollars to crooked bankers. You listened to the very people who created our economic meltdown, the Mutt and Jeff team of Larry Summers and Tim Geithner. You’ve let the insurance lobbyists hijack health-care reform to the detriment of every man, woman, and child in America.

You must say what you mean and mean what you say. Closing Guantanamo means just that. You could do it right now, Mr. President. You don’t have to wait until January. You can place terrorist suspects in the federal correctional system without creating any risk to our citizens.

You’re a nice guy. Everybody likes nice guys. Sometimes they finish last. You don’t want that, and neither do those of us who voted you in.

The American people have placed their future in your hands. For heaven’s sake don’t let them down. Don’t let yourself down.

I wanted to add: I voted for Larry Flynt for Governor in the 2003 recall election (in his candidate statement he wrote, "Vote for the smut peddler who cares"), as he ran on a platform of bringing slot gaming to California to bring in income to rebuild the state's crumbling infrastructure. Here's a list of what Schwarzenegger cut from the budget this week:

(in millions)

$8.3 - California Conservation Corps
$6.2 - Aging
$25 - Community Clinic Grants
$37.5 - In-Home Health Services
$12 - Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Services
$16.3 - Domestic Violence Reduction Program
$50 - Early Start Children's Program
$4.1 - Mental Health Caregivers Resource Center
$2 - CalGrant Student Aid Commission
$25 - Funding for State Employee Healthcare Costs
$27.8 - Williamson Act (helps restrict land to agricultural or related open space use)
$24 - Department of Finance Emergency Funds

I think that Larry Flynt would have done such a better job and we might not be in the horrible mess that we are now.

The one who is Canadian and said she had a life threatening brain tumor and was denied/delayed treatment under Canadian NHS and had to go to America to get "life saving treatment" and therefore we, as Americans should not have government run health care?

http://www.acreativerevolution.ca/node/1944

Yeah. Check this out. Admittedly, this is a blog post, but it's food for thought.

They link to a Huffington Post article that states:

"The Shona Holmes Health Care Hitjob

Case in point: Shona Holmes is the current poster girl for the liars slandering Canadian health care in an attempt to discredit reform. Ms. Holmes alleges she was horribly endangered by Canada's healthcare system:

Both CNN and McConnell made a big deal out of Shona Holmes, an Ontario woman who claims she was forced by Ontario's health system to go to the United States for life-saving surgery for a brain tumour. She claims that in 2005 delays in access to treatment at home made it necessary to go to the Mayo Clinic in Arizona and pay $97,000 for her care.

Her story sounds bad, doesn't it? Except, of course, it's a lie:

On the Mayo Clinic's website, Shona Holmes is a success story. But it's somewhat different story than all the headlines might have implied. Holmes' "brain tumour" was actually a Rathke's Cleft Cyst on her pituitary gland. To quote an American source, the John Wayne Cancer Center, "Rathke's Cleft Cysts are not true tumors or neoplasms; instead they are benign cysts."

There's no doubt Holmes had a problem that needed treatment, and she was given appointments with the appropriate specialists in Ontario. She chose not to wait the few months to see them. But it's a far cry from the life-or-death picture portrayed by Holmes on the TV ads or by McConnell in his attacks.

In other words, her condition was not immediately life threatening, and it was prioritized accordingly. But Holmes didn't want to wait behind people who needed care more than she did, so she went the U.S. where she could pay out of pocket to jump to the head of the line."

Ron Paul, a man I usually don't like very much and can't get behind on many many issues, showed to us today that he has the balls to stand up to the congress and refuse to join in on the masturbatory solipsism that produced these two bills today in the house and the senate.

http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/house-approves-iran-bill-405-1-2009-06-19.html

House approves Iran bill 405-1

The House overwhelmingly approved a resolution Friday in support of Iranian dissidents as that country’s top cleric warned protesters to end demonstrations.

The resolution was approved in a 405-1 vote, with two members voting present. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) was the only lawmaker opposed to the resolution.

the rest of the story )

You know, these two bills are so stupid. Obama has been *extremely* careful not to publicly do anything about what's going on in Iran, lest Ahmadinejad use it as an excuse to promote even more violence against the opposition, on the pretext that the opposition movement behind Moussavi is just a puppet of the US, which is not true. But Ahmadinejad would love to do it and polarize Iran even more than it already is.

And McCain writing the Senate bill? Mr. "Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran" himself? Jesus Christ. And everyone feels they have to vote for it or else they will look unpatriotic.

So the House and the Senate will just ignore what Obama is trying to do and make things worse. Not to mention what the definition of "support" is. Is that Moral support? Military Support? Monetary support? This is so vague and it just makes me angry.

So, Dr. Paul, thank you for being the only one ballsy enough to stand up and vote your conscience and do what's right.

I just went to add about 550 songs to my iPod and after i stopped it and unplugged it and it turned back on, it now says "No Music" even though it still shows that 60 gigs of data have been used.

FUCK ME THAT PISSES ME OFF.

Now I have to restore, re-load EVERYTHING back onto my iPod (I think I still have everything so it's not that bad) but I have to recreate ALL OF MY PLAYLISTS.

MOTHERFUCKERS.

I think I need to be fortified with nachos or fried chicken before tackling this mess. I'm off to the store.
